Well, we screened "And Now For Something Completely Different" at the
Regency Cafe, and we learned a valuable lesson. If you're parrot's dead, and the clerk doesn't want to exchange it, you've got to complain until you're blue in the face.
Thank-you to the
Regency Cafe for once again hosting the event!
Cinema 16:9 supplied the Movie Theater, and the Regency supplied the excellent everything else! Coffee, sandwiches, pastries, éclairs... my mouth is watering thinking about it. I ordered a large secret handshake, a tuna melt, and an éclair. It was like a trip through Savoryville to get to Delectabletown - and you can quote me on that.
But wait... as the title to this post suggests - This post is not about "And Now For Something Completely Different."
This post is, in fact, the round up... the post that brings all the clues together in one post. The answers to many questions are coming, and there's only
147 days left on that counter for something to happen.
Okay, so what are the clues?Clue 1: In our
premiere post on this very blog, we discussed Cinema 16:9's premiere Lansdowne screening which we held at the
Regency Cafe. The question was raised where was this Cinema 16:9? The answer came in obfuscation after obfuscation after
an Abbott and Costello routine.
You forgot to mention "after aggravation."Clue 2: It was revealed that David Titus, was the self-same gent who screened films in Mt. Airy as "Films at the Sedgwick" and that he had helped to found
The Little Theater, a movie theater that exists to this day right next door to the Sedgwick Theater on Germantown Ave.
Clue 3: Cinema 16:9 is "Lansdowne's Little Big Screen Cinemas"
I read the heading of the website... that's not much of a clue.Clue 4: Though veiled in secrecy, Cinema 16:9 has always been "located" in Lansdowne.
I get it. You're in Lansdowne PA. You don't have an actual permanent location though. Clue 5: Cinema 16:9's private screenings have included films such as The Fountain, National Treasure: The Book of Secrets, and
Xanadu.
Well, there's the problem, you showed Xanadu.Clue 6:
A Cinemamorial was planned and began construction, apparently without the Lansdowne borough council's knowledge.
But that's not true. But it was funny, I thought. Okay -
Clue 7: A Jumble: Gubernatorial Knickerbocker Flange Pies
Oh! Wow... I got that quicker than I thought I would.Clue 8 Down: Darkest before the ______.
light. Oh, I've got one:Clue 9: David Titus claims he had to catch a train the morning after the Monty Python screening at the Regency Cafe. Where was he going?Um, actually that's true. I was going to MA. And this weekend I have to go back, my brother's graduating from high school. Nothing to read into there, actually.
Actual Clue 9: Cinema 16:9 is now an LLC. An actual, privately owned, business.
Okay. I think I get it... was it the butler with the gun in the study?Clue 10: If you take every fifth letter of this blog post and use your Cinema 16:9 decoder ring, you'll read the super secret message about what Cinema 16:9 LLC is trying to accomplish in Lansdowne.
Okay, so I get... "T-e-l-l y-o-u-r m-o-m t-o p-i-c-k u-p O-v-a-l-t-i-n-e t-h-i-s w-e-e-k a-n-d r-e-c-e-i-v-e 1-0-% o-f-f." Oh come on. Honestly, hasn't there been enough of this secret stuff?Yes, you're right. I'm coming clean... in the next post. This post is getting long.
